Sabre Asia Pacific names new senior VP
Roshan Mendis has been named as senior vice president for Sabre Asia Pacific after it finalised the acquisition of Abacus.
Mendis will oversee operations for the Sabre Travel Network business in Asia and the integration of Abacus.
He spent 12 years at Travelocity, most recently as president of the Americas and previously as president of Zuji, Travelocity’s branded travel site in Asia Pacific.
"Roshan brings significant industry experience, as well as local knowledge and relationships within Asia, having worked for six years in Singapore at Zuji," said Sabre Travel Network president Greg Webb.
"This is an exciting time for Sabre and Abacus, and Roshan is perfectly suited to lead the business and bring together the local expertise of Asia-born and bred Abacus with the global capabilities of Sabre for the benefit of all agency and supplier customers."
Mendis, a Sri Lankan native, will be based at sabre’s Singapore headquarters.
