Sabre integrates virtual card payments for air tickets

Monday, 01 Dec, 2016 0
Sabre has announced virtual card payments for air tickets are now available for agents within the Sabre Red Workspace.

Sabre and payment partner Conferma have integrated the Sabre Virtual Payment solution for more than 425,000 agents globally and will be listed as another payment option alongside credit cards, cash or checks.

The option allows for more transparency and better fraud management as agents can set credit limits or date restrictions.

"For each air ticket, the traditional forms of payment challenge travel agents with high risk of fraud, exposing corporate accounts and requiring extra time for reconciliation. A more secure and efficient way to pay is now available for Sabre-connected agencies, and it is part of the core reservation flow in the Sabre Red Workspace and Sabre APIs," said Neil Fyfe, vice president of virtual payments at Sabre.

"In addition when using virtual payments within the GetThere booking tool, we provide incremental detailed reconciliation data available for expense management."

Sabre says virtual card payment adoption in travel agencies and corporations has grown 130% year over year and it expects continued growth in 2017.
