Sabre launch loyalty scheme
Sabre is launching a loyalty programme for agents in a bid to increase sales through the GDS.
The company claimed MyRewards would move away from the “traditionally short-term” incentive schemes and benefit retailers on an on-going basis.
Its existing incentive schemes, Sabre HotelRewards and Sabre AutoRewards, will continue but brought under the MyRewards brand.
Under the scheme, agents can earn points for every hotel and car booking which can redeemed against a range of goods in 19,000 stores.
Agents will also earn points by completing Sabre’s Internet-based training programme.
It will use technology from loyalty system specialist Loyaltynet.
Loyaltynet managing director Phil Thomson said: “The system allows companies to run their loyalty programmes as an extension of their portal or website which can dramatically increase use of their portal.
“By blending e-learning into the loyalty scheme, travel agents are motivated to learn more about Sabre’s products and services.”
Sabre EMEA vice president Richard Adams added: “A large proportion of our customer services such as held desk, training, reporting and troubleshooting, are done electronically to save our travel agency customers time.
“It makes good business sense to incorporate MyRewards because the more knowledgeable agents become about Sabre’s reservations system the more bookings they will make.”
