Saigon, city of big hugs
HO CHI MINH CITY: Overseas tourists were in for a surprise this week as young people took to the city streets offering big hugs.
Some 300 young people took part in a one-day campaign called “Free Hugs”. Volunteers offered hugs to strangers in public places to make them feel better.
The campaign was initiated last year by two young Vietnamese women and has caught on with other young people.
The “Free Hugs” campaign had also taken off in other countries, including Australia, South Korea, the United States, Switzerland, Belgium, and China.
