Samsung teams up with Grab to offer in-car infotainment
Tech giant Samsung is partnering with Southeast Asia’s leading ride hailing platform Grab to bring in-journey infotainment services to the market.
A MOU has been signed for video content to be broadcast in Grab cars which have Samsung tablet PCs installed.
Tourism related content such as destination tips on shopping, sightseeing and dining will be aired.
In addition Samsung will supply drivers with tablets and smartphones to beef up information security of Grab’s devices and services.
The two companies will also work together on micro financing opportunities via Samsung smartphones and in-car experiences via other new transport solutions.
"Southeast Asia is home to the world’s fastest growing emerging markets, yet many in the smaller towns and cities do not have easy access to the growing digital economy," said Grab CEO and co-founder Anthony Tan.
"Samsung is one of the world’s most innovative technology companies, and we’re thrilled to partner with them to empower more people in Southeast Asia."
