San Michele Wholesales Luxury Orient Express Tours
San Michele Travel has expanded its product range with the recent signing of a wholesale agreement with Singapore-based Orient Express.
San Michele’s managing director, Ian Norris said the commercial arrangement – part of the company’s concerted effort to expand its portfolio of exclusive and upmarket tour products in selected destinations – would enable agents through Australia to effortlessly book a specialised range of premium rail and sail holidays.
While Orient Express is known for its luxury hotels and restaurants and prestigious train journeys and opulent cruises San Michele would concentrate on promoting and selling the latter two luxury travel experiences.
Mr Norris believes that the Eastern & Oriental Express will be of particular interest to Australians seeking scenic and relaxing rail travel between Bangkok and Singapore or v.v. as well as a luxurious way of comfortably journeying around Thailand by train.
During 2006 three E & O Express rail options are available including a three night Bangkok to Singapore journey and a two night Singapore to Bangkok trip. Both options include excursions to the River Kwai near Kanchanaburi.
As well there are regular departures of the three day E & O Thai Explorer which departs Bangkok and visits Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Lampang and the River Kwai before returning to Bangkok.
In addition to luxury train travel in Southeast Asia, San Michele will be actively promoting five cruises in Myanmar – the formerly named Burma – under the Road to Mandalay banner.
The most extensive luxury river cruise is a 12-day Mandalay-Bhamo-Bagan voyages. This tour provides a detailed look into the unique culture of Myanmar.
San Michele is also offering its first-ever escorted group tour to Myanmar on October. Priced from $ 5,999 the seven day tour includes economy air fares with Thai International from East Coast ports, twin share hotel/boat accommodation, air conditioned transfers and transport, an escort in Myanmar, extensive sightseeing and most meals plus 2 nights stopover in Bangkok including hotels and transfers on the return.
A two night pre cruise Yangon extension enables participants to explore the temples and old British era architecture of the Southeast Asian nation’s historic capital.
A detailed Road to Mandalay Group Tour itinerary is available from San Michele Travel by contacting 1 800 22 22 44.
