Sandals checking in to Curacao

Monday, 14 Dec, 2020 0

Sandals is planting its flag in a new Caribbean destination.

It will bring its all-inclusive resort experience to Curacao, which becomes the ninth Caribbean island the brand has a presence on.

Sandals Curacao will take shape from a conversion of the Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, which will be transformed starting in 2021.

The beachfront property will initially have 350 rooms and suites including newly constructed River Suites, with more planned over time.

New pools and dining venues will be added during the refurbishment, and guests will have access to the adjacent golf course, two marinas, and the largest collection of meeting facilities on the island.

"We have a unique opportunity to attract a globally-recognized hotel operator, owner and investor such as Sandals Resorts, which will bring an unprecedented boon to the Curaçao tourism industry and the local economy," said Roald Smeets, Director of the Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort.

It follows the recent announcement of a new resort for sister brand Beaches coming to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
