SAS to launch budget flights from London and Spain
SAS is to set up a new low-cost base at an unnamed London airport.
The Scandinavian carriers plans to apply for a new air operator’s certificate in Ireland, which will allow it to launch budget flights between the UK and other countries.
It said the new budget operation, which will use its existing name, could start as early as next winter.
SAS said it would operate a small number of departures under the Irish AOC, as a complement to its existing flights.
Rickard Gustafson, SAS president and chief executive said: "The establishment of new bases means we can complement our Scandinavian production and, in time, build an even broader network with a superior schedule to the benefit of our customers."
