Scandic brings popup hotel room to New York
Nordic hospitality group Scandic will give New Yorkers a taste of its ‘pop-up’ hotel room concept later this month.
During the week-long North Food Festival which is dedicated to Nordic cuisine, Scandic will show off its mobile Scandic To Go room in New York, which is modeled on the company’s new Stockholm hotel, due to open next spring.
"This is our chance to showcase Scandic for an American audience and provide a sneak peek at our stylish new hotel project. The hotel will have a high design factor and it will cater to an international audience," said Anna Wiren, Marketing Manager at Scandic Sweden.
The hotel room measures 18 square meters and has an ensuite bathroom with a shower and toilet, twin beds, a pullout couch, ample storage and a large patio.
In-room amenities include TV, safe, air-conditioning, and free Wi-Fi.
The pop-up room will be on show throughout the festival in New York’s West Village from September 23-28.
