Scoot shifting Singapore operations to Terminal 1
Budget carrier Scoot said it will shift operations at its Singapore Changi Airport hub from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 next year.
A move to an upgraded T1 will improve the overall flow of passengers and allow the carrier to grow capacity.
"It will allow us to continue serving our growing customer base comfortably and meet their needs for a fast and fuss-free pre-flight experience," said Scoot CEO Mr Lee Lik Hsin.
"We are working hard to achieve a seamless transition for our customers, employees and service partners, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to our new home in T1 next year."
Work continues at T1 to expand passenger handling capacity which will be completed in 2019.
A revamp of the T1 departure hall was recently completed with new self-service automated machines.
The T1 baggage claim area is also being expanded to to serve more arriving flights.
Scoot will make the move to T1 in the fourth quarter of 2019.
CAG will work closely with Scoot to ensure that its relocation to T1 is seamless for all its passengers," said Jayson Goh, MD of airport operations management at Changi Airport Group.
CAG also announced the opening of a new passenger terminal at Seletar Airport, situated in the north east of the city state.
Seletar will be used for all commercial turbo prop flights to Singapore, and also handles charter flights and business jets.
