Seabourn offers UNESCO itineraries
Small-ship cruise operator Seabourn has entered into a multi-year partnership with UNESCO to offer enhanced access to the organization’s World Heritage sites around the world.
The ultra-luxury cruise line has pledged to raise $1 million for UNESCO funded by proceeds from shore excursions to listed sites.
The alliance will include on-board lectures by experts affiliated to UNESCO such as archaeologists, art historians and geologists as part of the line’s Seabourn Conversations enrichment and entertainment program.
It will also design special World Heritage Discovery tours at many ports worldwide.
Seabourn already offers over 150 designated UNESCO sites on its itineraries but this alliance "will include an even more up close and personal perspective," according to Seabourn president Rick Meadows.
"The speakers and shore excursions will provide the opportunity to go much more in depth in exploring cultural and natural heritage sites around world," Meadows said.
