Search continues for missing Titanic submersible
A desperate search continues for the deep-sea submersible called Titan as time runs out to save the occupants.
The submersible lost contact with its ship during a two-hour dive to the sea bed to view the wreck of the Titanic.
That was on Sunday with the sub still not located.
The 6m craft is operated by OceanGate Expeditions.
It is carrying five people including tourists.
It includes British billionaire and airline owner Hamish Harding.
Pakistani businessman Hahzada Dawood and his son Suleman are aboard as is the founder and CEO of OceanGate.
There was oxygen for 96 hours on the sub.
Due to the potential depth, only another submersible or unmanned vessel is able to search.
It was reported a distress signal was sent.
Oceangate said it is ‘exploring and mobilising all options’ to bring them back safely.’
An international rescue effort continues, led by the US Coast Guard and involves military aircraft.
