SeaWorld’s Mako rollercoaster to kick off with seat auction

Wednesday, 13 May, 2016 0
Coaster fans looking to be among the first to ride the long awaited Mako rollercoaster at SeaWorld Orlando will have to pay big bucks for the privilege.

However this is not another case of classic surge pricing but will instead benefit a kid’s charity through a seat auction.

Billed as the ‘tallest, fastest and longest coaster in Orlando,’ winning bidders get to ride on June 8 ahead of the official grand opening on June 10.

Proceeds will go to the Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) non profit.

GKTW funds trips to Orlando’s theme parks and other attractions for kids with life threatening illnesses.

Bids can be made at www.32auctions.com/InauguralMakoRide from now until June 3.

Seats are offered from $250 to $500 depending on the train and preferred seat along with a special VIP package with a reserve price of $2,000.

This package gives two front-row seats in the first car sat alongside Mako designer Brian Morrow and GKTW CEO Pamela Landwirth, free entry into SeaWorld, lunch and a two-night hotel stay.

The goal of the auction is to raise at least $20,000 for the non profit organization.
