The sister vessel to the world’s largest cruise ship has been floated out at the shipyard where it is under construction in Finland.
Allure of the Seas, the second in Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis-class of 5,400-passenger mega ships, has been moved from dry dock to wet dock on Friday at the STX Europe shipyard in Turku.
When the ship launches in December 2010, Allure of the Seas will offer the many features and amenities being introduced by Oasis of the Seas, the company said.
Oasis of the Seas is being prepared for its formal naming on Monday (November 30) before entering service out of Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean on December 5.
The cruise line’s president and CEO Adam Goldstein said: “This is simply a thrilling time for Royal Caribbean.
“Oasis of the Seas has been welcoming her first guests these past few days, and to think that Allure of the Seas will follow suit in just one short year is just extraordinary.”
