Secret Agent report – should we just let clients go on line?
In one of our first Secret Agent Reports or rather questions, a Secret Agent asks the question: –
I am concerned about the pricing on airline websites.
Often fares are advertised at rates only marginally higher than our net rates.
On many sites, credit card merchant fees are also absorbed.
If we are prepared to match the online price, we often make practically nothing on a booking.
Of course, most agents offer a great deal more than your average website and a comparison seems hardly fair.
Like it or not however, some of our customers DO go online and compare.
Should we simply let them go!
