Seeing friends at the spa
Why do people visit spas?
Perhaps surprisingly, the top three reasons involve gift certificates, coupon discounts and, ranking third, a chance to gather with friends.
Those were the results of a Coyle Hospitality Group survey of more than 2110 people throughout the US when polled on their spa experiences.
Most likely spa service: hair, followed by nails and massages.
Top four factors in a satisfactory experience: quality of service, cleanliness, value and friendliness of provider.
What do spa-goers do when they are disappointed? A majority complain in person, while smaller numbers use complaint cards or tell the manager.
