Senior appointments reflect growing success for Expedia in Australasia
Expedia.com.au, the Australian web interface of the world’s largest online travel company, Expedia, has announced two new senior appointments to help drive the company’s growth strategy in Australasia.
Nicolas Chu has joined the company as Director of Website and Product Development for Expedia Australia and New Zealand, while Kristi Barrow has been promoted to the role of Marketing Director for Australia and New Zealand.
At Expedia, Ms Barrow is responsible for all aspects of marketing, PR and sponsorship. She recently secured Expedia’s high profile “Premier Partner” sponsorship of the Sydney Swans FC, and the subsequent launch of Australia’s first ever sports-dedicated travel micro site on the Sydney Swans’ website.
Ms Barrow was also instrumental in securing the recent partnership agreement with Australia’s largest online portal, ninemsn. The partnership enables Expedia’s travel booking engines to be integrated throughout various sections of ninemsn’s popular Travel site.
Ms Barrow is a Certified Practising Marketer (CPM) of the Australian Marketing Institute and was recently appointed a Board Member of the Asia Pacific region of the global CMO Council.
Nicolas Chu brings several years experience in website strategic vision and has impressive capabilities in e-commerce retailing, advanced technologies, project management, online strategies as well as SEO and usability.
Prior to joining Expedia France in 2004 as part of the e-commerce website production team, Mr Chu was a Senior Project Manager with GDS Amadeus.
