Seniors Travel Online
@boutSeniors is Australia’s no.1 website for news, resources and information relevant to seniors, retirees, those about to retire and those looking for retirement planning.
@bout Seniors asked its 12,000 e-newsletter subscribers how they plan their travel. A resounding 73% answered that they booked online. Only 27% still prefer to use a travel agent.
Kaye Fallick, Director of @boutSeniors, says this statistic proves that the Internet is definitely the first port of call for pre-retirees and retirees planning their travel. “Our subscribers travel regularly and for long periods,” says Kaye. “They are telling us that online is now the standard method for booking flights and accommodation.”
Quick and easy accessibility to the available options and the ability to find cheaper deals and be in control of their planning has spurred the growth of online booking, which now dominates traditional services in the sector.
“A tipping point has well and truly been reached,” says Kaye. “The travel industry should know – a generation of constant travellers is online.”
