Seven passengers hospitalised after mystery smell on flight to Fort Lauderdale
A US flight was forced to do a U-turn just minutes after taking off when seven people on board started experiencing what has been described as ‘major difficulties’ due to an unidentified odour oboard.
They were taken to hospital for evaluation after the Spirit Airlines’ flight landed back at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, where they were met by fire crews and first aiders.
The plane has been taken out of service and is currently being inspected and an investigation into the incident is underway.
Neither the airline nor the airport has given an update on the passengers’ condition.
