Sex, slimming and shopping – Kuoni’s strange world of customer profiling

The cause for a united Europe has once again been set back – this time by a Kuoni holiday report that reveals Italians have the most sex with strangers, the Swiss can’t stand topless sunbathing and Brits wear hardly any clothes on their hols.
In a piece of seemless marketing bravura, the upmarket operator has spoken to 12,000 customers from 12 of its key markets in order to put together an odd collection of facts, the Kuoni Global Holiday Report, about what different nationalities do and don’t do while kicking back during their R&R time.
It seems the French are keen to seek out cheap eats, Spaniards spend as if money was going out of fashion and Swedes are very anxious that everything is environmentally sustainable.
Not that anyone is stereotyping here at all.
Italians come out the best dressed, of course, during their holidays while the French take the opportunity to dress down. Brits, despite going out and buying a new wardrobe for their trip, wear less than anyone else.
The report also tells us women prepare more for their holiday than men (surprise, surprise) – but then it is revealed that a lot of these preparations revolve around losing weight and choosing the right outfits.
What’s more, we learn that ladies don’t like men topless sunbathing and a minority of chaps object to being expected to speaking a foreign language.
There, Travelmole expects everyone feels more enlightened now.
