Luxury hospitality groups Shangr-La Hotels and Resorts and Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris recently officially rolled out their loyalty programme integration.

The two firms launched ‘Warmer Welcomes’ at an exclusive reception at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai.

It combines Shangri-La’s Golden Circle and Taj’s InnerCircle loyalty schemes covering a total of 200 hotels.

Guests of either programme receive reciprocal perks and can earn their preferred loyalty points at any Shangri-La or Taj property in 131 destinations in China, India, South East Asia, the Middle East, UK, Europe, Africa and The Americas.

A microsite, warmerwelcomes.com, was also rolled out for the alliance and is available across all devices.

Shangri-La’s Diamond elite members are aligned with Taj’s Platinum membership level, while Golden Circle Jade members receive Gold status of the Taj InnerCircle programme.

Golden Circle members staying at a Taj property will earn three GC award points for every US$5 spent, while Taj InnerCircle members get four TIC Points for every US$5 for qualifying stays.

New guests wishing to enrol can do so on either the Taj or Shangri-La websites.

To celebrate the launch, members will receive triple points when staying at the other company’s hotels from now through June 30, 2017.

Shangri-La Golden Circle and Taj InnerCircle members are required to link their accounts for automatic status matching at the respective loyalty programme websites.
