SYDNEY – A group of successfully established Indigenous tourism operators will be introduced to industry and media representatives at a trade event next month.

The ‘Indigenous Tourism Champions’ programme will feature a group of 19 Indigenous export-ready tourism operators at an evening cocktail function to be jointly held by Tourism Australia, Indigenous Business Australia and the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC).

This cocktail function will close the Indigenous Success Stories Trade Show, held earlier that day to showcase the products of the Indigenous Tourism Champions to the inbound tourism industry.

ATEC’s Meeting Place conference will begin the following day.

The evening cocktail event at Star Court, Darling Park, Sydney, on December 1 (6pm-8pm) will be supported by some of Australia’s most prominent Indigenous entertainers and celebrities, including a performance by Casey Donovan, food by Chef Mark Olive and former Bangarra dancer Albert David.

ATEC’s Meeting Place 2009 will be held at Hilton Sydney on December 2-3.
