SIA takes delivery of first A380
Singapore Airlines has confirmed that it will operate an Airbus A380 ‘super-jumbo’ into Heathrow early next year.
The airline, which has taken delivery of the first of a $5.7 billion order for 19 of the double-decker aircraft, is to deploy the A380 on one of three daily flights between London and Singapore from the first quarter of 2008.
The first 471-passenger A380, configured with in three classes – Economy, Business and new Suites – will make its debut on the Singapore-Sydney route on October 25, with most seats sold for charity on eBay.
The aircraft will then formerly join the fleet on the Sydney route from October 28.
