Simone Buckley leaves CWT
Lonsdale Travel has appointed Simone Buckley as managing director.
She was formely UK director of sales and marketing at Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
At Lonsdale she will be responsible for the strategy, sales and overall management of the company targeting both the public and private sector.
“In a market where buyers are continually striving to drive prices down, TMCs have to re-examine how they can deliver those savings whilst maintaining high levels of service,” she said.
“While large, global TMCs opt to offshore or standardise their service provision to achieve this, Lonsdale Travel is still able to deliver a tailored traditional service from the UK at a competitive price by focusing on the UK market.
Lonsdale Travel was acquired by the Capita Group in November 2005 and employs 220 people in the UK.
Its corporate clients include Alliance & Leicester, Burberry, Experian, Imperial Tobacco, John Deere, The Royal Mail, Toyota and Vision Express.
