Singapore business travel bubble delayed
Singapore’s business travel bubble has been delayed until at least late February.
Announced in December, it was originally expected to begin in January but was pushed back indefinitely due to delays in getting facilities ready.
The Connect@Singapore scheme will allow small business meetings to take place in appointed facilities for short-term stays of up to 14 days.
The scheme is open to pre-approved high economic business travellers from any country.
Travellers are required to stay at dedicated facilities under strict health protocols where they will conduct meetings within a safe bubble environment.
The Trade and Industry Ministry hasn’t confirmed a start date yet although The Straits Times reported it would be delayed until at least 21 february.
It will be ‘broadly aligned with the estimated operational start date of the first Connect@Singapore facility,’ a ministry official said.
