Singapore travel agency’s licence revoked
A Singapore travel agency had its license revoked over allegedly filing false financial statements over several years
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has revoked the license of Toyou Travel, which the STB says ‘committed an offence involving dishonesty.’
Toyou Travel is no longer allowed to perform any travel agency activities.
“STB has reason to believe that the company contravened Section 13(b) of the Travel Agents Act 1975 by submitting false financial statements for some years,” it said.
Toyou Travel is being compelled to refund all existing customers or transfer all bookings to other licensed travel agencies to handle.
Toyou Travel’s main customer base was for inbound travel to Singapore for students and educational tours, as well as leisure travellers.
The STB has strict rules over filing financial statements
