Sir Stelios dispenses with ally
Travel industry maverick, easyGroup boss Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, is rumoured to have split with his key business advisor just months after they brokered a deal with easyJet that should net Sir Stelios up to £50m.
According to reports in the Daily Telegraph, Sir Stelios terminated Amir Eilon’s contract following a row.
Eilon was once a non-executive director at easyJet and more recently worked as a consultant to easyGroup and earlier this year acted as peacemaker in a brand licensing dispute between the two.
He helped to conclude a deal in which Sir Stelios agreed easyJet could continue to sell ancillary services as long as he received 0.25% of revenue for 50 years.
