Six Flags Entertainment reportedly in talks to buy SeaWorld
SeaWorld is staying silent on news theme park operator Six Flags is considered a bid to take it over.
Rumors are swirling that Six Flags Entertainment is in talks to buy some or all of the business.
A SeaWorld spokesman said it wouldn’t comment on ‘speculation or rumor.’
It came on the back off strong third quarter financials for SeaWorld, as it is seemingly putting its ‘Blackfish’ woes behind it.
It welcomed an additional 700,000 guests during the summer period with revenue up by more than 10%.
However it remains vulnerable to takeover speculation as it still hasn’t announced a permanent chief executive since Joel Manby left months ago.
John Reilly is currently interim CEO and the board is still searching for Manby’s successor, the company said during an earnings call this week.
It made no mention of a potential sale of the business.
