Six Flags posts record revenue for 2014
Theme park operator Six Flags announced record-breaking year for revenue for the fifth time in a row.
Rising 6% from 2013, Six Flags banked $1.2 billion in 2014 revenue.
However the company said total attendance for 2014 was down to 25.6 million, citing extended school schedules in the first half of 2014.
Higher in-park spending was recorded and the company logged a 25% gain in its Active Pass Base season pass and membership program.
Admission revenue was up 7% as Six Flags expanded its special events program which included Fright Fest Halloween and Holiday in the Park events.
"I have never been more confident in our strategy and the long-term prospects for our company than I am today," said CEO Jim Reid-Anderson.
"Guest satisfaction scores have reached another all-time high and employee morale is better than ever."
Six Flags operates 18 parks in North America and Mexico and last year said it plans to build "multiple Six Flags-branded theme parks in China over the next decade."
