US theme park operator Six Flags has lofty ambitions for its debut in Dubai.

Six Flags said it would build the world’s largest rollercoaster at the park, which is slated to open 2019.

Work has already started on the park which will be housed in the new Dubai Parks and Resorts complex.

"There will be rides that are bigger, better, faster, broader than any rides in the world," John Odum, senior vice president of international park operations at Six Flags said, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

The park will contain at least 27 rides and attractions set over six themed zones: Thrillseeker Plaza, Magic Mountain, Fiesta Texas, Great Escape, Great Adventure, and Great America.

At least six will be rollercoasters with four additional aerial attractions and a river rapids ride.

The park will become the fourth at Dubai’s upcoming Parks and Resorts complex.

It will follow the Hollywood inspired Motiongate, Bollywood Park Dubai and Legoland Dubai, which are all due to open in October.
