Ski Beat: Ski season bookings off to a flying start
As the first ski season departures draw closer, Ski Beat reports a big jump in ski holiday bookings so far.
They are up 22% year on year, with New Year departures on 27th December now 90% booked.
Bookings for Christmas week are up 40% year on year, it says.
Ski Beat’s Laura Hazell said “We are seeing a lot of confidence return to the market, in terms of website traffic, enquiries and bookings. The last couple of months in particular have seen a significant upturn in activity.”
“Interestingly, our first departure of the year on 13 December is almost full and currently outselling Christmas week.”
The following week, departing on 20th December, is over 65% sold, with friends and families keen to spend the Christmas period together in a ski chalet.
“Chalet hosts take care of the guests and the chalet, and prepare a traditional Christmas day dinner and take care of all the preparations.”
“Overall, we are delighted with the strong upturn in bookings this season. As we approach our fourth decade in business, it is encouraging to see the sustained interest.”
