Skyscanner rolls out package holiday search
Online travel platform Skyscanner plans to use its metasearch muscle to upend the package holiday segment.
It announced its entry into package holiday comparison to ‘disrupt a traditional travel space’ it says.
Skyscanner will offer packages from tour operators such as TUI, Jet2, easyJet Holidays and OTAs Expedia and On the Beach.
“Our new package comparison product searches 25 million packages every day across the biggest UK package holiday providers to find travellers the best options,” said Cat King, global commercial VP at Skyscanner.
“By applying our smart tech and pricing data to package holidays, we’re comparing the best options and taking the stress out of planning.”
Skyscanner says it is already seeing strong demand for flight-plus-hotel packages.
