Small gains for industry shares
There were small gains for travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s equity markets pushed ahead. The FTSE 100 index gained 49.2 points to close at 4406.7, while the broader-based FTSE 250 added 34.1 points to end the day at 6237.5. There were, however, few drastic movements; British Airways gained 5.75p to close at 286.25p, Easyjet lost 3p to end the day at 300p and Ryanair closed at 314.25p, down 2p.
