Small Luxury Hotels of the World recognised for 2nd consecutive year………….
Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has for the second consecutive year been named “Brand Management Company of the Year” in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific at the 2007 HM Awards for Hotel & Accommodation Excellence, held in Sydney last week.
Lynne Ireland, Vice President Development – Asia Pacific for Small Luxury Hotels of the World said: “We are extremely honoured to have received the HM Award for the second consecutive year as it really reinforces SLH’s strong commitment to providing excellence across all facets of the luxury hotel brand”.
Paul Kerr, Joint Managing Director for SLH said: “This major industry recognition is reflective of the SLH brand’s unique placement within the global market place and is a credit to the successful business structure maintained by SLH’s management company, Hill & Goodridge Associates.”
Hill Goodridge & Associates Ltd (HGA), the global management and marketing company to whom SLH outsources the management of the brand, provides the assets, employees and offices which support the not-for-profit organisation.
This business model, coupled with the growth in consumer demand for the type of unique experiences that SLH hotels offer, has seen the brand grow from strength to strength with the number of hotels now exceeding 440, of which over 90 are in the Asia Pacific region.
The geographic spread of the brand is extensive as well, with a presence in more than 65 countries. While reservations revenue is expected to be close to US$100 million by the end of this year.
Awards were presented across 39 different categories, but the coveted Hotel Brand Management Company of the Year award was one of only three special ‘judges only’ categories within the Major Awards division. Finalists were selected by a panel of 28 judges comprising well known travel writers and prominent tourism personalities.
In each of the five years the HM Awards have been held, SLH hotels have come out on top in a number of key categories, truly highlighting the brand’s ongoing strength in the market and the standards of excellence that SLH hotels consistently deliver.
