Snow closes Edinburgh and Newcastle airports

Domestic airline passengers face long delays in freezing conditions today as Edinburgh and Newcastle airports have closed due to snow and many more flights have been suspended around the country.
After the coldest November night in 25 years last night, travellers will be faced with commuter and air chaos as the snow coincides with Underground strikes in the capital.
With snow affecting the north and east so far, flights have been hampered at Inverness, Leeds Bradford, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Durham and Norwich.
All airports are advising passengers to check ahead with their airline before travelling to the airport.
Those travelling to airports should also allow extra time for their journey as many roads are blocked by the snow.
And the forecast for the rest of the week is enough to make you shiver, too. Some areas will see temperatures dive to -20C, with the snow moving southwards tonight, hitting London and the south east.
