Sonoma County Tourism, Visit California hope to lure ‘Kind Travelers’
Sonoma County Tourism announced the continuation of its partnership with Kind Traveler through a new statewide tourism initiative with Visit California.
Sonoma County Tourism began its relationship with hotel booking and education platform Kind Traveler in 2019.
It was the first DMO to join the platform.
Last month Visit California became the first state to partner with Kind Traveler on a new statewide program, for which Sonoma County Tourism is now a participant.
Through Kind Traveler’s Give + Get hotel booking platform, travelers unlock exclusive offers from participating hotels.
A $10 or more donation is awarded to Sonoma County charities,.
Positive impact metrics are shared with every booking.
Local beneficiaries selected by Sonoma County Tourism include Charlie’s Acres Farm Sanctuary and Pepperwood Preserve.
They join Redwood Empire Food Bank, Russian Riverkeeper, and Sonoma Land Trust as beneficiaries.
Certain Sonoma County lodging partners have become the first in California to participate in a pilot program called “Every Stay Gives Back.”
It automatically harnesses donations to local Sonoma County charities with every guest stay.
Sonoma County has long been at the forefront in sustainability, as the first county in the US in which all cities passed a Climate Emergency Resolution.
