South African Airways launches fare sale for US market

National flag carrier South African Airways has put the African continent on sale for US travelers with special rates from Washington, DC and New York to select destinations.
 
The carrier has announced sale fares starting at $939 round trip for Washington, DC to Accra, Ghana flights and  New York-JFK to Johannesburg from $1,149, available for booking through March 31, 2016.
 
SAA is also offering sales fares to Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, and East London in South Africa, which are also available originating from other US gateways such as Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, and Seattle.
 
"With these low sale fares, now is a great time to plan a vacation to Africa or to fly home to visit family and friends," said Marc Cavaliere, executive vice president, the Americas for South African Airways.  
 
"South Africa, in particular, has been named as one of the most affordable places in the world to visit in 2016, with the extremely favorable exchange rate to the US Dollar."
 
Sales fares are for travel between April 1 and May 31, 2016 and from August 11 – September 12, 2016, the airline said.
