Spicejet selling Covid-19 insurance
SpiceJet is offering Covid-19 insurance cover to customers.
It becomes the first India carrier to offer cover which starts at a premium of INR443 ($6) for INR50,000 ($667) of cover. Higher premiums offer up to INR300,000 of cover.
The insurance covers hospital expenses as well all pre- and post-hospitalisation expenses for 30 to 60 days depending on the premium.
"Insurance cover will boost the morale of passengers to travel freely and frequently. The insurance cover is not only very affordable but is also valid for a one-year period," said Ajay Singh, chairman and MD of SpiceJet.
The airline partnered with Go Digit General Insurance to tailor its Digit Illness Group Insurance Policy to airline customers.
It can be purchased when making flight bookings on the SpiceJet website by clicking the ‘Get Insured’ button.
