Spirit Airlines adding fifth destination in Colombia
No frills carrier Spirit Airlines is adding another destination in Colombia.
The airline will introduce its fifth Colombian city later this year with nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale to Cali.
Daily service begins on December 20, 2018.
The airline has been flying to Colombia for a decade and already serves Cartagena, Bogota, Medellín and Armenia.
Cali becomes the 68th city in Spirit’s network and 17th in Latin America.
"The start of operations will expand the network of connections within the United States, beyond their hub in Fort Lauderdale. We are pleased to have an airline committed to providing excellent service to its users at very affordable rates, and hope that the commercial and tourist exchanges generated by this new route will contribute to our region’s economic growth," said Ricardo Alberto Lenis Steffens, general manager of Aerocali.
Spirit says the new service will enable customers to connect at Fort Lauderdale from ‘dozens’ of cities in its US network.
