Spokane now home for US boxing championships
Northern Quest Resort & Casino will once again become headquarters for USA boxing next week, clinching a four-year deal to host the annual USA National Boxing Championships.
A partnership between the Spokane Sports Commission, The Hub Sports Centre, USA Boxing and Northern Quest brings the premier Olympic-style boxing event to the Inland Northwest from 2013 until 2016.
Phil Haugen, general manager of Northern Quest Resort & Casino, said: "Spokane continues to make a name for itself as the successful host of a variety of world-class sporting events."
Athletes competing in the 2013 USA Boxing National Championships will begin weigh-ins on March 31 at Northern Quest.
Preliminary bouts will be held on Monday, April 1 through Thursday, April 4 at The Hub Sports Centre in Spokane Valley.
Semifinals and finals will be held at Northern Quest’s Pend Oreille Pavilion on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6.
Tickets for preliminary, quarterfinal, semifinal and final bouts are on sale now. Prices range from US$5 to US$40 depending on the level of event.
