Sri Lanka set for GTMC conference
Sri Lanka is in line to host the Guild of Travel Management Companies conference in 2006.
Although details have yet to be confirmed, it has emerged as the clear favourite to stage the event.
It is understood that no other venues are being considered.
A GTMC delegation is due to fly to Sri Lanka tomorrow to firm up details.
“It is not quite a done deal but it’s the venue the GTMC want,” one source said.
It is though the Guild approached Sri Lanka about staging the conference in a move to show solidarity to the tsunami hit region.
The conference will be held from May 19.
