SriLankan Airlines has strengthened its codeshare partnership with oneworld alliance partner Japan Airlines,

The two airlines have extended the pact to include another six new routes between Japan and South Asia.

These are Tokyo Narita services to Bangkok, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, along with Bangkok, Singapore and New Delhi from Tokyo Haneda.

JAL will also place its code on SriLankan operated flights to Colombo from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and New Delhi.

"It will create new choice travel options to South Asia for travellers in more cities across Japan. These flights will be operated on JAL aircraft with both JAL and SriLankan flight numbers," a statement said.

The agreement allows passengers through ticketing and baggage, along with the ability to earn frequent flyer points on either airline.
