St. Kitts secured additional airlift from North America

Travel demand for St. Kitts is on the rise with additional airlift secured from North American gateways for the upcoming peak season.

A combination of extra capacity on existing routes and new flights has bolstered confidence in a strong season.

"It is a testament to the strong relationships that the St. Kitts Ministry of Tourism together with the St. Kitts Tourism Authority have built with the airlines that has led to this additional service," said Minister Lindsay Grant.

"I could not be more pleased to see increased airlift to our shores from our airline partners to help us continue our momentum of growth in the tourism sector."

Number one carrier to St. Kitts American Airlines is extending the season by five weeks for its Miami-St. Kitts service and Delta Air Lines will add mid-week nonstop flights from Atlanta for peak season starting on December 26, 2018.

United Airlines has announced an additional Wednesday flight to its existing weekend service from Newark to St. Kitts’ Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport which begins on January 9, 2019.

Recently, Sun Country Airlines announced its entry into the St. Kitts market with nonstop Saturday service from its Minneapolis hub for the peak season from December 22, 2018 through April 20, 2019.

Air Canada said it will resume its seasonal nonstop Saturday flights from Toronto earlier this season from November 3, 2018, adding an extra seven weekly flights compared to last year.

St. Kitts’ airlift growth has been down to a sustainable strategy to support new and existing hotel developments and continuing to nurture these valuable relationships with the airlines, the ministry says.
