Stansted debut for Swedish budget carrier
Swedish low fares carrier FlyMe has started flying from Stansted.
The airline is offering double daily flights to Gothenburg, except Saturdays.
The Stansted route is part of an ambitious international expansion plan by the airline which will see it serving Paris, Nice, Amsterdam, Rome, Prague, Malaga, Palma, Alicante, Chania and Rhodes from its Gothenburg base.
FlyMe previously only operated routes within Scandinavia, serving Malmo, Ostersund and Helsinki.
The airline, which sells through the trade and distributes via Amadeus, offers allocated seats at check-in, 8kgs of carry-on luggage and 20kgs of free checked bags.
Stansted’s business development and planning director Nick Barton said: “FlyMe have vastly extended their route network over the past few weeks and we are delighted to welcome them to Stansted and be a part of their extensive network development.”
