Iceland Express is to resume flights between Stansted and Reykjavik despite moving the service to Gatwick earlier this year.
The carrier said it was re-commencing flights between Stansted and Keflavik International Airport in response to public demand.
The Stansted service will resume in November twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.
Iceland Express used to fly from Stansted until the airline moved operations to Gatwick in May.
The Stansted link will be in addition to the Gatwick service and follows the recent announcement of a new route from Birmingham for next summer.
CEO Matthias Imslandsaid: “The demand for flights between the UK and Iceland is stronger than it’s ever been so we wanted to cater for this popularity.
“We have always had good relations at Stansted Airport so it seemed only natural to fly from there once again. Also, we were getting lots of requests to move back to the airport from our customers who used to use the service regularly.”
