Star celebrates lifting of cruise control
HONG KONG – Star Cruises’ SuperStar Aquarius this week sailed with 1500 China mainland passengers to Taiwan, marking a new relationship between the governments of China and Taiwan.
The passengers from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen benefited from the Chinese government’s announcement in April this year to allow mainland tour groups to travel to Taiwan by taking cruise vessels home-ported in Hong Kong.
SuperStar Aquarius’ special cruise itinerary is tailor-made to introduce “multi-destination†travel for first-time mainland tourists.
Its itinerary will visit the cities of Tainan, Taichung and Keelung with highlights of Taichung’s Sunmoon Lake and Taipei’s National Palace Museum and the tallest building in Taiwan, the Taipei 101.
