Star of breakfast TV to talk at industry lunch
TV presenter Selina Scott will deliver the keynote speech at this year's Association of Women Travel Executives Christmas lunch, which will include a charity auction and industry awards.
Scott has interviewed business leaders, statesmen, politicians and royals, launched BBC Breakfast TV in the 1980s, and she has recently received acclaim for her campaign against ageism in the media.
Other entertainment includes a reception, sponsored by White Hart Associates LLP, music from the Singing Waitresses, sponsored by Bicester Village, and a silent and live auction led by former travel trade publisher Trevor Harding for this year’s chosen charity Just a Drop.
AWTE chair Karen Ramirez will also be presenting the AWTE’s chair’s awards to two outstanding women in the travel industry, and announcing new plans for the organisation in 2012.
The lunch, sponsored by Dubai Tourism, will be held on Tuesday December 6 from 12.15pm at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington. Tickets cost £80 for members £80, £90 non-members.
