Starwood and GTI Tourism check in
Starwood Hotels & Resorts has appointed GTI Tourism as its public relations partner in Australia.
Daniella Tonetto, regional director of sales & marketing for Starwood Pacific Hotels, says the appointment is well-timed to communicate Starwood’s major expansion plans across the region, as well as to drive awareness of the extensive renovations taking place within the Pacific portfolio’s existing hotels and resorts.
"Starwood is substantially expanding its portfolio of luxury and select-service brands within Australia and across the Asia Pacific region.
"In 2012 we have already made a number of announcements, including the debut of The Luxury Collection brand in Australia, and our re-entry into Perth with the opening of a Four Points by Sheraton," she said.
"There will be more in the coming months, with news from the Pacific region in particular."
Starwood will reveal two additional major ventures along Australia’s east and west coasts in the second half of the year, and is expanding further in the South Pacific islands with the opening of Sheraton New Caledonia Bourail Resort & Spa in 2013.
