Starwood expanding with 10 new hotels in New York State

Tuesday, 03 Feb, 2016 0
Starwood Hotels & Resorts plans a big expansion in New York State by nearly doubling its portfolio there within three years.

Starwood will add another 10 hotels across the Aloft, Element and Four Points brands, giving it 22 hotels in the state by the end of 2018.

New hotels planned include Four Points and Aloft properties near New York LaGuardia Airport, two Syracuse hotels and an Aloft at Long Island City.

Aloft Syracuse Inner Harbor, Four Points Hudson Yards and Aloft Long Island City are all slated to open this year.

"As Starwood’s global pipeline driver, Aloft, Element and Four Points have never been stronger, and are rapidly expanding across New York. With our tech-forward mindset and innovative programming, our brands have re-energized the mid-market space," said Brian McGuinness, global brand leader of specialty select brands for Starwood.

Both the Aloft and Four Points brands reached important milestones last year, reaching 100 and 200 hotels respectively worldwide.

"Aloft, Four Points and Element fill a much-needed niche in the market and are sought out by owners and developers in pursuit of high-caliber global brands with a proven track record of success," said Allison Reid, senior vice president of North America development.
