Stash branded card earns loyalty points at chain hotels

Stash Hotel Rewards, the loyalty program just for independent hotel stays, is now embracing chain hotels.

It has launched the Stash Hotel Rewards Visa card in partnership with Synchrony Financial, which allows Stash members to stay at chain hotels outside the Stash network and still earn points.

Cardholders can enjoy double points on stays at any hotel, a first in the industry the company says.

"Travelers who love authentic hotel experiences sometimes find themselves stuck at a chain hotel," said Jeff Low, Stash Hotel Rewards CEO.

"With the Stash Visa card, even a night at a cookie-cutter hotel gets you closer to a free room at a one-of-a-kind independent hotel."

In addition to double points for hotel stays and extra purchases such as dining at chain hotels, cardholders earn additional triple points when staying at Stash partner hotels.

"Until now, carrying a hotel loyalty credit card meant you were committing to a single hotel brand. The Stash Visa Card changes all that. Now you can stay at any hotel and earn double Stash points," said Tom Quindlen, CEO of retail card, Synchrony Financial.
